Last Dec , went to India for 3 weeks . As usual , mosquito bites, travel, tiredness everything was there. But this time, was able to spend more time with Family & even Pranhav & Magathi had a feel of that happiness . This is their trip after 2 years and both of them are grown up now and are able to remember & understand things happening around , compared to the previous trip.
For Pranhav , few interesting things were there in the trip which he is going to remember .
First thing he enjoyed is the Auto rides. He preferred autos than car/taxi for travel . The open autos & carefree driving of auto drivers attracted him .For the first few days, his questions were :
1) How come dogs & cows are standing in the road? Buses will not hit them? No rules for them ?
2) Why auto drivers are going in the opposite direction in a one-way road ? No fine ? No rules ?
He also enjoyed the travel in Shadhabdhi , compared to all other trains , because of the food he was getting non-stop in the 4-5 hours :) .Orange drink, Then Sandwiches & samosa, then Dinner, then ice-cream - He couldn't say no for anything . But next day he realized his mistake :))
One more enjoyment for Pranhav was the curd in Paramakudi Patti's house. He really could make out the difference between the curd made in tetra pack preserved milk here and the fresh cow's milk there .Anytime, anybody asked what food he likes & what he want, he will answer "CURD RICE" ... He was telling , "Amma ! Can you pack some 12-13 packets of milk from Paramakudi & make curd in Singapore with that milk ? ". He loved the curd rice to such an extent that once he refused to go to hotel for dinner & wanted patti's curd rice only .
Thanks to the mosquito bat, Pranhav's favourite time pass during the trip was that mosquito bat and he has acquired the skills of aiming correctly & hitting . Every evening, he will put his protection layer of Odomos and will take his weapon (mosquito bat ) and will start killing each & every mosquito approaching him . At night, he will sleep with the pride of a soldier who has won the war & killed his enemies :). Unfortunately , he will still have mosquito bites next day morning :) .Grandparents (both in chennai & PMK) remember Pranhav whenever they see the mosquitos & mosquito bat .
Magathi enjoyed the small dogs & animals she could see & was telling, cute dog for any dog she comes across . She also enjoyed the bike rides with grandfather in PMK & shopping (of course! Girl la!) . She also loved the company of relatives & friends around ,which she dont have in Singapore . (Me too !) . She has become really talkative after this trip .
Apart from this , few other things which both Pranhav & Magathi enjoyed are the night travel in trains , crackers & big lamps for karthigai , variety of food , trip to Srirangapatnam & the toys they got to see there etc . They also stayed alone (without Parents) for the first time, without any issues .Magathi stayed in Siva -Saraswathi's house (family friend) for a night & Dhanya's house (my sister) for a night .Pranhav stayed in Dhanya's house for a night & also in Bangalore Ashram (AOL) for 3 nights .
Pranhav had insisted on taking snaps of few things (which we cannot see in Singapore) like the autos, lorries, people standing in footboard, rail poochi (not sure on the english name of that insect) etc to show it to our helper. Later he was explaining the photos to our helper . His literal translation to rail poochi was train insect .... :))
Overall , they liked India very much except for the mosquitoes :))
